3 Things I Love About Being An Entrepreneur On National Entrepreneur’s Day

by | Nov 19, 2019 | General, Students | 0 comments

Entrepreneurship is something we talk about a lot at Industry Lash Pro. In fact, it’s an essential pillar of our training program. Developing business skills is what makes an entrepreneur successful. And this week, on National Entrepreneur’s Day, we’re celebrating all of those hard-working hustlers out there who’ve built an empire.

Regardless of the industry, being an entrepreneur means you are willing to take a risk. Successful entrepreneurs don’t always end up on the Fortune 500 list. There are ways beyond being a millionaire to define success as an entrepreneur.

Our Industry Lash Pro training is designed to support the women who are ready to advance their careers and become their own bosh one lash at a time. As I look back, I’m glad I decided to take the risk and leave my old city…old job…old industry years ago.

I’ve been working on building my empire every day since! Here are a few things I love about being a lash entrepreneur…

I’m My Own Boss

OK, this one probably sounds a little more glamorous than it actually is. There are days when I’m overworked, overbooked, and exhausted. On these days, I’m really left wishing that I could just clock out and let someone else deal with it. But I push on and so does every other hard-working entrepreneur out there.

Being your own boss gives you the ability to built the business the way YOU want it. It’s also incredibility motivating and rewarding to set your own schedule and work toward your own goals. However, because I’m my own boss, it’s my job to stay on task and use good time management skills each day.

Time Management Tip: Stop multi-tasking and stay focused! Of course, we all have to be a little flexible each day but there’s no point to set a personal deadline only to find ways to push them back. Set a deadline and try your best to stick to it. Set it a few days before the task absolutely has to be done. This allows room for flexibility, but also allow for you still to get the task done.

Build Relationships

As an entrepreneur, I’m not limited by a corporate ladder. I don’t have to jump through hoops or “know the right person”. The idea of building a successful lash empire is all I need to push me as far as I can go! And, while building my business, I get to meet a lot of wonderful people along the way! I’ve built relationships with strategic partners like gyms, bridal shops and other beauty professionals through networking and cross-promoting.

Networking Tip: Build valuable relationships that help benefit your business. Think about what your target market does outside of your services. For me, a lot of my clients also cross over into other areas of the beauty industry as well as health and wellness.

I Get To Do What I Love

Every morning I get to wake up and work toward my goals that benefit my business. Above all, I get to do what makes me happy. I don’t feel trapped in a dead-end job or chained to a desk. I’m in my lash studio every day doing what I love!

Part of doing what I love means I’m working toward my goals and visions every day. Sometimes it’s a big leap forward and two steps back but I know I’ll get to where I want to be if I stay focused.

Streamline Your Vision: Be honest about your priorities! Review your commitments and let go of commitments that are costing you precious money, time, or both.
