How to Choose The Right Lash Adhesive

With so many adhesives available on the market today, it can be hard to determine which adhesive is right for you especially in the beginning. What works for some lash artists might not work for others which leads to varying opinions on the matter. To better help you make a decision, we’ve put together a few key factors to consider when you’re shopping for the perfect lash adhesive…

Dry Time. Many lash artists, especially those with experience, opt for a quick-setting adhesive to use on their clients. A quick setting adhesive has many advantages such as a faster drying time and better retention. If you find that your lashes are clumping and sticking together (be sure to also check your isolation) it might be because your adhesive isn’t setting quick enough. Look for adhesives with dry times under 5 seconds.

No-To-Low Vapor. Protect the health and safety of you and your clients by using an adhesive that has no-to-low vapor which cuts back on exposure to fumes. Remember, a key component to any lash glue is cyanoacrylate which is a strong, fast-acting ingredient that is also commonly used in the medical field. Cyanoacrylate is an essential and safe component of any lash adhesive but it does have a short shelf life. Lash stylists should pay careful attention to the way adhesives are handled and stored. Certain elements like light exposure and temperature can greatly affect the life and quality of the adhesives.

Read The Labels. Look for adhesives that are labeled “Latex-Free’ to limit the risk of potential irritations and reactions. We also recommend opting for ‘cruelty-free’ brands that promise not to harm or kill animals in testing or creating their products.

If you are looking for a quality adhesive that includes all of the above-mentioned qualities, try one of Lash Affair’s adhesives.
