Before or After Your Lash Fill? Holiday Beauty Routine Lineup!

It’s officially fall which means we’re 17 days to Halloween,  41 to Thanksgiving and 72 to Christmas (but whose counting?) ‘Tis the season for weddings, parties, dinners and holiday events and we all want to look our best. But, before you start to fill your calendar with back-to-back pampering sessions, it’s important to schedule them accordingly so your lashes are not affected by other services (or the opposite.) Check out our recommendations below that will help you keep your beauty service routine in order this holiday season.

Facials: The key to glowing skin is healthy skin. At iLashCharlotte, we’re a team of certified estheticians so we understand the benefits of a good facial. It’s ok to get a facial when you have lash extensions, just be sure to work with your esthetician. Use caution with steam, eyepatches and facial products that contain oil as they could breakdown your lash adhesive. Remember to give your lashes 24 hours to set before getting a facial to avoid any complications.

Manicure: Few things are better than a fresh manicure especially for a holiday party! Whether you prefer long nails with airbrushed designs or short nails with shellac polish, your manicure should not affect your lash extensions. However, we recommend choosing a comfortable nail length so you are able to properly wash, brush and maintain your lashes.

Spray Tan: Spray tans are the perfect way to get a beautiful glow without any of the harmful UV risks. However, it’s important to get a spray tan after your lash refill appointment. Eye pads and tape used during the eyelash application process could affect your spray tan. If you’re getting your face sprayed, we recommend booking an appointment with a spray tan professional who uses organic products that will not breakdown your adhesive.

Professional Makeup: Getting glammed up for a holiday event? No problem! Schedule your lash appointment before your makeup service so your makeup artist can work with your lashes to complete your look. As always, stay away from makeup that contains oil because it could breakdown your lash adhesive.

Waxing :  Thread, wax, or pluck- your choice! Whatever method you prefer, just be mindful of your lash extensions especially those who love longer lengths! Your brow grooming appointment can be scheduled before or after you get your lashes filled.

Hair:  No holiday look is complete without a great blow out! Remember that you need to keep your eyelashes dry for 24 hours after your lash refill appointment so be careful not to get splashed during your wash and blow dry.
