3 Healthy Ways to Unwind In The New Year

This one is for all the other hard working ladies out there! Between being a lash boss and my most important roll as Mom… it seems like “me time” is pretty much non existent these days. The truth is, self-care is one of the most important gifts we can give ourselves this holiday season.

So, with the new year approaching, there’s no better time to bump self-care up on the priority list. Here’s a few ways to unwind the healthy way…


Sleep More


Obvious? Probably. But, sleep is so essential to our overall health and wellbeing. We can’t be successful entrepreneurs, mothers, motivators, lash bosses etc. without adequate sleep!
Tip: Unplug! A lot of times, our cell phones and technology can be a constant source of stress. Make a pledge in 2019 to put your cell phone done one hour before bed time. Unless it’s an emergency, focus on unwinding with a book, a bath, some meditation or even a quick stretching routine to keep your mind and body focused.


Start a Journal


I love this suggestion! This option serves as an outlet for your creativity. Whether it’s a quick recap of your day, some sketches or just a few random thoughts, it’s a great way to stay inspired. Journaling can help you gain control of your emotions which can improve your mental wellness, focus, and resilience.


Tune Into Your Body


Take 10 minutes everyday to focus on YOU. No matter how busy you are, you can find 10 minutes for some self care. Sit quietly and breathe deeply. Relax your shoulders with every exhale and feel your stress escape. Be mindful and focus on the moment at hand. Welcome relaxing thoughts and memories but reject stressful ones. Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier tomorrow and notice the difference.

As business leaders, we always like to push forward but maybe slowing down might actually the best way for us to speed up in the long run #FoodForThought
