The holidays are in full swing! The hustle and bustle of the season is here and it’s the perfect time to remember you need to take care of yourself, too. Between the turkey-induced naps, long trips to see family and friends and late-night shopping (or partying), the holidays can really take a toll on your eyes.
Eye health is important to us at iLash Charlotte and it should be for you, too! Here are some tips from our lash care team…
Use eye drops
Itchy, red eyes are common during this time of year. From indoor heaters to seasonal allergies and decreased humidity, there are a variety of factors that can irritate your eyes. Booked a flight? Pack your eye drops because airplane cabins have decreased humidity which can cause additional irritation and dryness. Most over-the-counter eye drops are safe to use with eyelash extensions, just remember to gently dry the skin around your so as not to disturb your extensions.
Never sleep in your contact lenses
This is a no-brainier year-round but don’t fall victim to increased temptations during this time of year such as late-night holiday parties and impromptu couch naps. Also, remember to remove and clean your lenses daily to avoid infections. On the go? Throw a traveling case in your purse.
Eye infections are bad and can cause setbacks for clients with eyelash extensions as refills are not recommended during treatment.
Remove your makeup daily
Let’s say that one again, remove your makeup daily. We all want to look our best during the holiday season from one party to another but don’t forget to remove your makeup every night.
Sleeping in your makeup can cause everything from clogged pores and breakouts to fine lines and infections. We recommend using an oil-free makeup remover to keep your lash extensions safe and your skin looking refreshed.
No matter what your celebrating this year, always put your health first.
Cheers to a great 2019 holiday season!
