Beauty And Your Brows: Four Ways To Groom Your Brows

Nothing compliments a great set of eyelash extensions better than a beautiful pair of brows! Your eyebrows help shape your face and complete your look so it’s no wonder we have a variety of grooming options available when it comes to brow maintenance! Here’s a look at four popular grooming methods and how each one works.

1. Tweezing. The oldest method of eyebrow grooming, tweezing is great for removing stray hairs from small areas like your eyebrows or upper lip. This is, perhaps, the cheapest method of brow maintenance and is something you can do at home but there’s also a lot that can go wrong! Tweezing can cause redness, inflammation and over-plucked brows. We recommend booking a brow consultation with a professional for best results. There’s no harm in keeping a pair of tweezers on hand for stray hairs in between appointments, but brow shaping is best left to the professionals!

2. Waxing. Another popular grooming method is waxing. Waxing is a great way to cover large areas like your arms, back or bikini line and it also does a wonderful job in creating beautifully-shaped brows, too. Unlike tweezing, properly waxed brows remove fine hairs and dead skin cells which helps prevent ingrown hairs. Another great benefit of waxing is that it’s pretty comfortable compared to other forms of hair removal.

3. Threading. Hot on the beauty scene, threading is one of the most interesting methods of hair removal on the market. In this technique, a thin double thread is rolled over areas of your brow to remove rows of hair instead of single hairs. This ancient form of hair removal removes the entire hair follicle from the root giving you lasting results. Threading is pretty high on the ‘ouch factor’ scale, but if you have the tolerance, the results are worth the temporary discomfort!

4. Microblading. One of our favorite methods with long-lasting results! This technique requires a lot of skill, practice and training so a good technician is key. Microblading is done by using a small, manual tool that creates fine hair-like strokes that mimic your natural hair follicles similar to a semi-permanent tattoo. This is certainly the most expensive form of brow grooming but well worth every penny with the right technician.

No matter what method you choose, don’t neglect your brows! There are plenty of methods on the market to suit your grooming needs.
