Summer is in full swing and, while you are out celebrating, you’ll probably want to preserve some of the precious memories you’re making with a photo or two! We’ve got a few ways you can look great in your summer selfies and increase your lash following on Instagram by taking better pics.
1. Have the right lighting. This is key! We can’t always rely on natural light so it’s great to have a backup plan whether you’re taking a selfie or a picture for your portfolio. 2. Experiment with angles. Find your best angle by taking a few pics tilting your head to the left, right etc. Find your ‘best side’ and let it shine through in your selfie. Angled shots are generally more flattering than straight on shots.
3. Don’t forget about the ‘Rule of Thirds’. Photographers use the ‘Rule of Thirds’ to find the right placement in their photos. Simply break your photo into three sections and keep your eye line about one third of the way down from the top. (Don’t forget to use your angles so it doesn’t end up looking like a DMV pic!)
