Considering becoming a lash artist or know someone who is? There’s a lot to consider before enrolling in a training certification. Having been down this road before, we understand this is not necessarily an easy (or inexpensive) choice so it’s important to know what to look for in a program. Here are a few things to consider that will help make your choice easier.
Choose a quality brand. One that is recognized in the industry. Quality matters when it comes to lash training. Remember to do your research and look for an instructor that has experience (we recommend 3 or more in the field) and teaches a comprehensive curriculum that goes beyond just the basics- trust me, you’ll need the advice!
Look for support. This is big! Many companies will spend a day training you only to take your money and end your communication. You’ll have questions when you get started so it’s crucial to have a support team in place who can help at no additional cost. Having a license matters! Unfortunately, there are people performing lash services without a proper license. In the state of North Carolina, you must hold a Esthetics or Cosmetology license to perform lash services legally. The state board regulates lash boutiques and will not hesitate to shut down a business that employs artists who don’t hold a proper license…don’t take the risk!
As a certified Lash Affair trainer with years of experience, I highly recommend our training program! We are one of the few programs that provides a comprehensive manual, product kit, student and live model practice, client service and business consulting, an official certificate from a reputable program and ongoing mentorship and support. Have more questions? Just ask and let us help you get started on the right foot in your career.
