There aren’t a lot of “work-from-home” positions when you’re in the beauty industry. Our careers require clients, conversations, and perhaps hours of hands-on work. Now, we’re in the middle of a COVID-19 restriction that requires many of us to close our doors.
Of course, there are the financial setbacks that come when you aren’t able to see clients for weeks. Many people are clouded by fear, uncertainty, and plenty of anxiety. But, I’m also one to look on the bright side of things in life. And what the world needs… perhaps now more than ever- is positivity.
Here are some ways I’m making the most with life without lashes.
Remember Your Time is Valuable
If there’s one thing I have more of now it’s time. All too often, we forget the value of our time. As business owners, it seems like it’s easier to sacrifice our time over anything else. Adjust your attitude to recognize the value of your time….then add tax!
Focus on What Matters Most
This extra time at home has really allowed me to pour all of my attention and energy into my son. Other working moms out there know how hard it is to divide your attention and strike that perfect work/life balance. These slow days filled with long walks, hugs, and extra playtime have been a blessing. My time with him has become more precious.
Look Ahead
Of course, I’ve been building my lash empire with some of this time off! In fact, I have joined The Thrivers Society and I’m SO excited about the opportunities and connections this group offers from others in the beauty industry.
For better or for worse, each day is a blessing. I’m counting down the days until I can open the doors to iLash Charlotte once again. Until then, I’ll live in the moment and look forward to the future. How have you been staying busy?
