From classically long lengths to cat-eyed looks full of volume, there are a variety of styles lash artists can use to create new looks. And, with the help of great tools such as Lash Maps by Lash Affair, creating the perfect look has never been easier. No matter the style, good corner lashes are essential to a great overall look.
The 90 degree rule is a great one to follow when applying corner lashes because it prevents lashes from looking criss-crossed. As the name implies, you simply place a lash extension 90 degrees each time. You’ll also want to start by taping up the skin in the corners to help with placement. This tip will help you get as close as possible to the natural root so, when the corners do grow out, they don’t turn and twist.
In addition the the 90 degree rule, we recommend using shorter extensions for corner lashes. A common design mistake is making outer-corner lashes too long. Generally, the longer the lash, the more weight it puts on the natural lash. If an outer-corner lash is too long or heavy, it can cause the eye to droop- the opposite of a bright-eyed look!
On the opposite side of the spectrum, you can’t forget about filling inner-corner lashes! These lashes are tedious and sometimes challenging but no set is complete without great inner-corner lashes. Once you’ve taped down the bottom lashes, carefully brush the inner-corner lashes away from the nose helping them to separate and become more visible.
These tips will help your sets appear full and finished from corner to corner. Remember, spending a little extra time filling corner lashes can really set you apart from the competition!
