Curl, Length & Thickness; How to Create Custom Sets

When it comes to lash extensions, there are three basic elements that make up an extension; the curl, the length and the thickness. Eyelash extensions are not a one size fits all service and your lash artist will use a variety of factors to determine what length, curl and thickness are right for you.

At iLashCharlotte, we customize our lash sets based on our clients’ natural lashes and eye shapes. The condition of your natural lash can help us determine a thickness and length that’s appropriate for your natural lashes. For example, a thicker, longer lash won’t work for some people. If your natural lash is thin or damaged, adding more weight will only cause damage to your natural lash because it cannot support the extension properly.

Additionally, your eye shape can help us determine what type of curl to use. There are so many types of natural eye shapes like hooded eyes, protruding eyes, almond shape, close set, wide set… the list goes on and on! The good news is that we can create beautiful looks for any eye shape. Almond eyes are the most versatile, while deep set and hooded eyes will benefit from longer lengths. Wide set eyes should have shorter lengths in the corners to make them appear closer together and the opposite is true for close set eyes.
