The One Market We’re Neglecting As Lash Educators

by | Jan 10, 2019 | Students

If you know me, then you know that quality lash education has always been an absolute MUST! I’ve flown around the country to meet with the best of the best in the lash game. From mentor sessions (Maven Artistry) to international beauty conventions (Lash Affair) and even an eyebrow extension class or two (it’s always great to try new things, right?), it’s no secret that I believe in bettering myself. As I continue to grow and advance in my skills,I know that I’ll never stop learning and you shouldn’t either!

When it comes to continuing our education and skills as artists, it seems there’s no shortage of great lash educators out there. But, I couldn’t help but notice there’s one market out there that’s lacking quality lash education…. POTENTIAL CLIENTS.

I realized that Instagram is full of great content for lash artists, but what about education for clients?

For the general public?…. Isn’t it killing you inside a little bit when people think cluster lashes are lash extensions?!

We need to educate the general public more!

Have we moved away from lashing clients to exclusively educating artists now? Could it be that we’ve built our own exclusive digital “lash bubble” without even realizing it?!

If you are a lash artist by trade (as in that’s what pays the bills) then you know how important it is to take care of your clients and focus on your local market. Your 1.5 hour sets probably don’t look anywhere near as fluffy as the 5 hour Russian Volume set you just scrolled past on your feed. It’s OK!

The truth is, we need to provide more education to our clients and potential clients. Let’s get back to basics and help answer questions any potential lash client might have like:

What’s the real difference between Volume & Classic?
How long can I go between fills?
Why do you charge more than cluster lashes?

I’m not talking about directing someone to your Q & A page on your website. I’m talking about really educating the world about lashes. Let’s start engaging and make 2019 a year full of education for both industry professionals AND the general public!
