If you’re serious about becoming a lash entrepreneur, then you the value of teamwork. Even as a sole proprietor you’ll want to build a team that can help grow your business, your brand, and your profit! Having a growth mindset is one of the differences between a lash artist and a lash entrepreneur…which are you?
What to look for
I’ve spent a lot of time, money, effort, and energy over the past years trying to build a team that works with my business mindset. I’ve had some great successes and some major flops. Here are a few things you should look out for as your building your team.
Personality Matters
This is an industry where personality matters! Remember, anyone under your roof that’s representing your business in any way is a direct extension of your brand. If you would want a person to meet with your best clients, then it’s time to keep looking. Personality can make or break repeat business during a 2-hour lash session.
Vet Their 5-Year Plan
Don’t learn this the hard way! You want someone on your team who’s going to work as hard as you. If they aren’t 100% in, then move on. The last thing you want to do is waste your resources on someone who will leave in 2 months.
Check their resume
There are so many things you can learn from a resume that can help qualify candidates. Maybe you’re looking for someone right out of school to train from the ground up or maybe you need that experienced volume artist. Whatever the case, always take the time to review resumes and check with sources.
I may not be perfect, but I’m pretty proud of the wonderful team we’ve built at iLash Charlotte ❤️ I can’t think of a better group of women to surround myself with personally and professionally.
