The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly: How We Fix Unacceptable Work

by | Aug 21, 2020 | Customers, Lash Education | 0 comments

It’s no secret that the lash industry is BOOMING and many people are jumping on board! We love supporting our fellow lash artists and, through our Industry Lash Pro training courses, we have the opportunity to meet and train aspiring lash artists each month.

Unfortunately, not all aspiring lash artists have the skills and experience they need before jumping in. They see lashing as a profitable service and throw it on their salon menu right away at ridiculously low prices. Please do not price shop when it comes to lash extensions!

The Bad – Bargain Lashes

Remember, quality lashes with skilled artists don’t typically come at bargain prices from your local hair salon. Authentic eyelash extensions are individual extensions attached to individual eyelashes, one at a time. This process can take a
couple of hours. Each set is completely customized based on the client’s features, lash goals, and lifestyle. True lash extensions adhere to your natural lashes and there should NOT be any adhesive on your eyelids.

At iLash Charlotte, we fix unacceptable work! When a client comes to us with really bad lashes, we’ll start by using a chemical remover to wipe the slate clean. The remover is placed at the base of the extensions for at least 10 minutes. After that, your lash artist will use gentle microfiber brushes to work the remover around the base of the extensions which will loosen the adhesive bond. Like magic, they’ll slide off effortlessly!

Remember, removing your lash extensions is not a DIY job.

The Ugly – Basic Sets

To be fair, not all sets we fix are technically bad. Of course, we get our fair share of horror stories where we have to fix really awful sets (as mentioned above), but sometimes, the lashes just aren’t as good as they could be. They are cookie-cutter and do little to enhance the client’s features.

As a general rule of thumb, we require max lash fills when a client comes from another lash artist. Most eyelash boutiques won’t take clients from another stylist. Why? Because it takes extra time and patience to manually remove any lashes that have been improperly placed. It also takes time to determine a new styling method. We’re up for the challenge, but we need more than an hour to work a miracle!

We have very high lash standards at iLash Charlotte and we strive to give our clients the advanced sets they’re accustomed to. Sometimes, people come to us looking for more. We’re known for our advanced techniques, signature volume sets, and unmatched creativity. Often times, we help improve lash lets by taking a standard lash set to the next level! If you are tired of the same old set refill after refill, give us a call.

The Good

The good news is our team at iLash Charlotte can help. Our experienced lash and brow team have seen it all. If you’ve been scarred by a bad lash experience, we can change your mind! It all starts with a consultation so we can learn more about the current state of your lashes and how we can help.
