Dispelling 3 More Myths about Lashes [Part 2]

May 5, 2015

Misinformation about eyelash extensions is everywhere. You may have heard some. Did you know what was truth and what wasn’t?  We clear things up for you right here: Semi-Permanent Eyelashes: Dispelling 3 Myths [Part 1]. If you haven’t read it yet, make sure you do (after you’ve read Part 2 ;-).

Because of the great response to our first article, we decided to do a Part 2.

Natural BeautySo we’re Dispelling 3 More Myths about Lash Extensions.

#1: Eyelash extensions are real hair.

Yes…and no. Some lash extensions are real hair. They can be silk, mink or even human hair. Other kinds are synthetic ‘hair’ and faux mink. They are lighter and mimic real mink fur.

#2: Sometimes I spend my whole Saturday getting my hair done. Getting semi-permanent eyelash extensions will take just as long.

Not true. Even though the delicate process of getting semi-permanent eyelash extensions requires accuracy, it will only take about 2 hours to apply them. We won’t monopolize your entire day. You’ll have plenty of time to sachet around town, showing off your lashes!

#3: Getting lash extensions is a scary process. What happens when I get my extensions?

That’s a great question. It’s natural to have some anticipation about a procedure you are not familiar with. To alleviate any stress, we’ll gladly explain step-by-step what you can expect.

At iLash Charlotte, we conduct our procedure in a private room with mellow music, so getting your lashes is a calming experience. Once you are there:

*You are reclined back in a comfortable position
*The bottom lashes are taped down to prevent the top and bottom lashes from being glued together
*We separate each individual lash to ensure meticulous application.
*An extension is gently added to the natural lash with glue (all while avoiding the eyelash lid)
*After all of the lashes have been applied, we dry them to ensure they have set.
*The tape is removed. You can safely open your eyes. Because the process is very relaxing, many clients fall asleep.

BeautyNow that you’ve learned even more about eyelash extensions, do this: read Semi-Permanent Eyelashes: Dispelling 3 Myths [Part 1] and set your appointment. iLash Charlotte, 678-698-1556.
