The Four-Letter Word That’s Holding You Back

I’m stepping outside the box to write this one and it comes from the heart…from experience…. and trial and error.
In my Industry Lash Pro training classes, I’m privileged to see so much talent! We work to instill the entrepreneurial mindset because mindset is everything.
Do you know the one thing that holds both beginning and experienced lash artists back?
It’s not talent, passion, or even commitment.

It’s FEAR. Here’s why…

Fear tells us to avoid anything new. This can hold you back from new business opportunities and growth. Fear wants us to stay in familiar situations, surroundings, and routines.
Fear is consuming. It prevents you from thinking things through or seeing clearly. Often times, fear tells us to react immediately and any lash entrepreneur knows “shooting from the hip” is not a great way to manage your business.
Fear also brings pessimism. Notice that you only see the downside of things? That’s the fear talking! Though it’s important to weigh your risks vs. rewards as a business owner, don’t let fear impair your judgement and ambition.
The good news is that we can all overcome fear as part of the entrepreneurial mindset. Embrace it, think it through and let it go.

How To Overcome Fear

There’s not a universal way to simply overcome fear. It’s different for everyone! Personally, one way I tackle fear is exercising. When I work out, I prove to myself that I can do things that I couldn’t do before.

For example, in Yoga, every class I become more flexible, my core gets stronger, and I can hold my balance a little more. This carries out into my business life as well. When you teach yourself how to conquer fear, it can help improve many aspects of your life.

Another way I conquer fear is to stick post-it notes to my mirror with inspirational messages. There’s also a lot of great inspirational podcasts you could listen to as well.

Take the time to strengthen your inner self so you can tackle fear in all areas of your life!
