The quarantine has given us all more time to think about what we want to do. As more and more people discover the beauty of lash extensions, there’s ONE question we get time and time again…’Are lash extensions safe?’
The answer is yes! Here’s are a few reasons why…
Eyelash extensions won’t ruin your natural lashes.
With proper application, care, and maintenance, eyelash extensions won’t affect your natural lashes.
Why?
Unlike strip lashes or clusters, lash extensions will not weigh down your lashes. Your lash artist will work to create a custom set based on the length, thickness, and curl of your natural lashes. Remember, there are serums you can use to strengthen your natural lashes which will provide a great base for lash extensions.
We use medical-grade adhesive
This is important. As we’ve said many times before, do your homework before making an appointment. Check to make sure the salon uses non-toxic, high quality adhesive. Salons using the best quality products will happily let you know all about their brands. At iLash Charlotte, we use luxury brand and high-quality products that will not affect the integrity or safety of your natural lashes.
Lash extensions don’t come in contact with your skin or eyes
They are applied directly to your lashes using either a 1:1 technique (Classic Lashes) or 2:1, 3:1, etc (Volume Lashes). Eyelash extensions are perfect for everyone, including those who wear glasses or contacts. Even if you have a history of sensitivity, your lash artist can perform a patch test to see if you are a candidate for lash extensions.
With all of that being said, even with the most experienced lash artists can’t stop you from compromising the safety of your lashes at home. Never put mascara on your lashes, be wary of eyelash curlers (they can pull extensions and real lashes out!), stay away from products that contain oil and be sure to clean them every day.
