It’s no secret that a great lash portfolio can help increase your business by bringing you more clients. In fact, a great portfolio that clearly showcases your work can really help you get an edge over the competition. Did you know that the angle of your photos can really make a difference? Before you snap your next Instagram pic, use these tips to maximize your lash work.
Straight on angles: These are fantastic for before and after photos! A good shot of a lash line straight on can really show off how clean your work is. If you are just starting out, skip the straight on angle because it is the least forgiving. Make sure you’ve mastered proper isolation and placement before showcasing this angle in your portfolio.
Aerial shots: I highly recommend this angle for training purposes. This helps others see it from your view as a lash artist. It’s a great way to highlight a volume fan, demonstrate proper isolation and show off retention.
Profile shots: These help show the length and curl lash extensions can give you. Profile shots look especially great with clean backgrounds so keep that in mind.
Artistic shots: Sometimes it’s fun to think outside the box! Most of the time we like to zoom in to show off our work but try adding a few full face pics of your clients. This is a great way to let people see the difference lashes make in a client’s everyday look. Add a pop of bold lipstick and you’ll have a magazine worthy photo in no time!
